The Associated Press-GfK Poll on upbeat tending was conducted by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Corporate Communications from March 24-28. It is supported on line and radiophone sound ring interviews with a nationally representative random distribution of 1,001 adults. Interviews were conducted with 701 respondents on line telephones and 300 on radiophone phones.

Digits in the sound drawing dialed were generated randomly to reach households with unlisted and traded line and radiophone sound numbers.

Interviews were conducted in both arts and Spanish.

As is done routinely in surveys, results were weighted, or adjusted, to secure that responses accurately emit the population's makeup by factors much as age, sex, education and race. In addition, the weighting took into account patterns of sound ingest — line only, radiophone exclusive and both types — by region.

No more than one instance in 20 should quantity variations in the distribution drive the results to depart by more than plus or harmful 4.2 percentage points from the answers that would be obtained if all adults in the U.S. were polled.
